Disclaimers and licensing

Club Policy

5th Avenue is an essential part of every student experience in Manchester. We strive to maintain a friendly and energetic atmosphere, full of cool people with the ambition to have a great time.

Venue staff are always friendly, helpful and take special care of customers to make sure they feel safe and can enjoy themselves. Bar staff are young, fresh and always deliver an excellent as well as our door staff who are highly trained to ensure the clubber's security.

With up to four entrances in use at any one time we work hard to make sure you are not queuing for long, maximising your time to revel in the nightclub experience we have to offer.

All we ask is that customers help us to do this by behaving in a sensible manner.

Please work with us to ensure we remain Manchester's No.1 for night time entertainment.

Smoking Policy

Due to the high demand of our venue we are required to closely manage the volume of people flowing into and out of the building.

To do this we ask all people needing to exit and re-enter the venue to purchase a smoking wristband at the price of £1.

Please note that when leaving the club we ask all customers to respect the needs of residents living in close proximity to the venue.

Drug Policy

5th Avenue Nightclub operates with ZERO TOLERANCE towards drug abuse.

5th Avenue Nightclub reserves the right to carry out a random search, and we ask that patrons kindly cooperate with such a request; failure to do so may result in refusal of admission.

Any person found using or dealing drugs will be detained and the police will be called immediately.
This policy is for the safety of all patrons and staff.

Footwear Policy

Occasionally upon admission to the venue you may be asked to sign an Inappropriate Footwear Disclaimer, see example below.

Open top sandals or flip-flops, shoes without a substantial soul or foot bed, very high heels and unsteady footwear may all fall under the category of being inappropriate.

“I acknowledge that I have been informed clearly by the management of 5th Avenue Nightclub that my footwear is considered to be inappropriate for the purpose of entering and using the club facilities.

I have been advised of the potential risks of wearing such footwear and I further understand that I am now entering the venue at my own risk. I acknowledge that I assume full responsibility for any consequence of wearing footwear that has been deemed by the management as inappropriate.

I can confirm that upon entering the venue I absolve the venue, its managers and any of its employees from any liability for any potential claim for injury or damage that may arise in relation to the footwear I have choose to wear.”

Live music policy

The Licensing Board imposes the following condition on all regular extensions and occasional licences, permissions and extensions:

"Live and amplified music be controlled that they are inaudible within any noise sensitive premises".

“Live music may not take place after 23:00 (11:00pm).
This means that any noise from live and amplified music in the licensed premises of 5th Avenue should not be capable of being heard in any of the following neighbouring premises:

  • Orient House, Granby Row
  • Granby Village, Samual Ogden Street,
  • Stanlow House,
  • Asia House, Princess Street
